Special Curry Dish

Champion Curry, nicknamed “Chankare,” had been loved by people as a local gourmet in Hokuriku, where the first restaurant opened over 50 years ago. Chankare offers “Noto-Shishi Curry,” Japanese curry and rice with the Noto region’s wild boar meat, as a special menu for the New Year of Boar. We designed and produced the plates exclusively for this menu; This design follows the special rice bowl we developed in the past.

Special Rice Bowl

Champion Curry, nicknamed “Chankare,” has been loved by people as a local gourmet in Hokuriku, where the first restaurant opened over 50 years ago. We designed and produced the special rice bowls for “Chankare’s Sauce Katsudon” (Japanese chicken cutlet rice bowl with sauce).

Because “Katsu” means “winning” in Japanese, the drawing features dragonflies called “Kachi-Mushi (Victory Bug)” since ancient times, arrows representing good luck leading to victory, and Sho-Chiku-Bai (The pine-bamboo-apricot combination pattern) symbolizing happiness.

The pattern drawn around the bowl can be read as “Champion” in Japanese, and Champion Curry’s character and a thank you message would appear at the bottom of the bowl after enjoying the meal.
